What’s the point of customers having an account before checkout?

Back

A store owner can enjoy several advantages if their customers create an account prior to making a purchase. It's an excellent method for customers to store their personal information and shopping preferences, which can simplify the checkout process and save time. In addition, registered customers may have access to exclusive discounts and special offers. Moreover, it's an efficient method of gathering customer email addresses.

What benefits can I expect from doing this?

The email has a large reach when it comes to targeting clients. Email is also very personal; not everyone gives out their email, so if a customer gives you their email, they’re giving you permission to contact them. Use this opportunity to target them with what you have to offer in the future.

How to gather customer’s emails?

In the checkout settings, you can choose if you want your customers to have an account to be able to checkout. You can choose from three options:

1. The accounts are required; customers will only be able to check out if they have a customer account.

2. The accounts are optional; the customer will have the option to either create an account before checking out or proceed to checkout without creating one.

3. the accounts are disabled, where customers will only be able to check out as guests.

4. Click on "Save".
