How to edit the checkout form?

If you facilitate the payment process for your customers and make it easy to use, they are more likely to use your service again. The checkout form should not be complicated or long so they will not waste time confirming the purchase and paying for it.


What is a checkout form?


A checkout form is a page shown to the customer after selecting a product to buy, for them to conclude and finalize the purchase. It contains fields that your customers need to fill in with their personal information and shipping address. 


YouCan made for you the process of customizing the checkout form very easy, follow these steps:


  1. Go to the Payment section.

  2. Scroll down till you see Checkout information.

  3. You will see all the checkout fields.

  4. Enable the ones you want your customers to fill in by checking the Required box. 

  5. You can edit the title of each checkout field you enable.

  6. You can also enter the placeholder which is a piece of indicative information you customize to guide your customer and tell them the information they need to enter. 

  7. If you need more checkout fields, click on Add custom field and customize it.

  8. Click on Save.





In addition to the checkout information that mainly focuses on helping you gather information related to the customer, you have three settings that help you customize and get information related to shipping :


  1. Shipping address: when you enable this option, a shipping address form will appear to your customers for them to fill in with all shipping information, it will be a mandatory field.


  1. Billing address: you have the option to enable this option too which refers to the address associated with the credit card. Generally, it is the same as the shipping address.


Note:

  • The billing address only appears when you enable the shipping address. 

  • If you enable the billing address option, your customers can either enter it manually or check this box: Same as the shipping address.


  1. Select a shipping form: this option allows you to showcase all the shipping zones you can deliver to. Read this article to learn how you can customize your shipping zones. You can either choose to show all the shipping options or choose only one shipping option from the menu. 



Note: Please note that the information collected from the shipping information does not show up in external use like invoices and Google Sheets, only customer information and custom fields will appear.
